Late Score Costs Broadneck Against Arundel
The Broadneck Bruins lost the lead late in a 5-1 defeat to Arundel on Friday. The game was tied at one with Arundel batting in the top of the fifth when Moises Aristy singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Matt Hageman who had reached on a base hit.
Broadneck got on the board in the first inning when Matt Isaac singled on a 0-2 count, scoring Cam Urlock from third base.
Arundel knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning when Noel Aristy scored on an infield error. Arundel went on to score three more runs in the top of the seventh inning. Noel Aristy, Pat Mason, and and Will Shubert powered the big inning with RBIs.
Will Shubert led the Arundel to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out two. Champ Wert threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Nick Gatton took the loss for the home team Bruins. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and only surrendered two runs. Matt Isaac went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Bruins in hits.
Arundel totaled seven hits in the game. Moises Aristy and Garrett Stanard each managed multiple hits for the visiting Wildcats. Arundel didn’t commit a single error in the field.
