Broadneck Bruins defeated Arundel 5-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ryan Stolarczyk induced a fly out from Chris Koennel to finish off the game.
Nick Gatton was the winning pitcher for the Bruins. He allowed 11 hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out two. Stolarczyk threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Andrew Barrett took the loss for Arundel. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero.
Broadneck tallied ten hits on the day. Ben Schultz, Dylan Tenney, and Matt Isaac all collected multiple hits. Isaac, Tenney, and Schultz each collected two hits to lead the Bruins.
Arundel scattered 11 hits in the game. Sam Merchant, Koennel, Anthony D’Urso, and Corbin Warner all managed multiple hits for Arundel. Merchant went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Arundel in hits.
