Broadneck Bruins Score Three in the Top of the Seventh to Beat North County
The Bruins snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over North County on Friday. Broadneck was down 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Dylan Tenney doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring Will Munnelly and Cam Urlock who both reached on walks.
North County evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning when LJ Barkley singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. North County then captured the lead in the second inning when Ben Adams scored on an error by the Bruins. The score remained at 4-3 until Broadneck scored three in the top of the seventh. Ben Schultz drove in an insurance run when he doubled over the left fielder’s head to make it 6-4.
Reliever Ryan Stolarczyk was the winning pitcher for the visiting Bruins. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Austin Stevens took the loss for North County. He surrendered five runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out three.
Dillion Smith started the game for Broadneck. He allowed five hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two.
Broadneck tallied ten hits in the game. Ben Schultz, Will Munnelly, and Thomas Coble each collected two hits for Broadneck.
