Broadneck High School would like to welcome athletic trainer, Ms. Hallie McCarn, to the Bruin Athletic Community. Ms. McCarn graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with minors in Exercise Science and Coaching. During her time at Indiana University, she worked with the water polo, diving, football, softball, cross country, track and field and volleyball teams; and also worked at Bloomington High School North supplying medical coverage for the IU Ballet Theater. Each of these settings provided her with a unique perspective of what it means to be an athletic trainer. Additionally, she was a research assistant for the NCAA and Department of Defense Concussion Assessment, Research and Education Consortium, a teaching assistant for the EMT class, and observed multiple orthopedic surgeries. She also studied abroad with the University of Georgia in Taiwan. While there Ms. McCarn studied Traditional Chinese Medicine. Classes focused on manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue releases and massage, cupping, acupuncture and pain point therapy. Ms. McCarn states that “she is excited to be at Broadneck High School and looks forward to working with our outstanding Bruin student athletes as well as the entire community!!
