Although neither the MPSSAA or AACPS have officially cancelled the spring sports season, it is starting to seem less and less likely that there will be a return to the fields this year or conduct or senior athletics award banquet that was scheduled for May 18th. Our hearts are heavy for our entire community, our coaches, and most importantly our student-athletes. None more so than our fantastic group of senior student-athletes who have contributed so much to our school and the athletic department. We all know that many outstanding moments lie ahead for this group, but we of course feel saddened that many of them did not get the chance to end their careers of the field, track, or court. This does not take anything away from the enormous impact that they have made on every aspect of our school community. Their leadership has resulted in so many memories for our entire community to draw back on. We will be saluting our seniors over the course of the next few weeks through our various social media platforms. Social media posts for our spring sports seniors (starting next week as this would have been the start of our “senior nights”), announcements of senior awards, and senior highlight slideshows are all being developed by our fantastic coaches to recognize this awesome group of students. Although we realize this does not replace the loss of games, banquets, and other senior events that we all look forward to, we are hoping to show just how much they have meant to our athletic department and our entire school community.
If any further direction is given from the state or county that changes the current situation it will be communicated on our social media platforms. If you have any questions please feel free to email email@example.com.
