Booster Meetings

The BHS Athletic Boosters meet in the main office conference room on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00-7:30pm.

First Meeting for 2018-19 will be Sept 10th!

Volunteer Positions

Membership

We need parents to join the Boosters and be active!  The first step is to get folks to join and membership is vital to meeting our fundraising goals.  Being on this committee, you might be asked to assist with the following: 

  • Promoting Booster Membership—communicate the benefits of joining the Boosters  and emphasize the recent successes and current goals.
  • Encouraging and welcoming  new Booster members
  • Maintaining records
  • Staffing  Membership Tables at seasonal parent/athlete/coach meetings and Back to School events.
  • Maintaining membership forms, pens, cash box, and “perks” and work with Treasurer.
  • Maintaining membership data base to include additions throughout the year.
  • Seasonal tracking and reporting of the team memberships to promote friendly competition among teams in order to help meet membership goals.

Merchandise

We market Bruin spirit wear and products to the entire Bruin Fan Base—students and families and the extended family of Bruins’ Fans here on the Broadneck Peninsula and beyond.  Merchandise Sales support our fundraising goals and just as importantly, it supports school spirit and pride in our community.  Being on this committee, you might be asked to assist with the following:

  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to staff stadium store
  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to staff seasonal parent/athlete/coach meetings and Back to School events
  • Managing and maintain merchandise inventory and pricing
  • Maintaining records
  • Maintaining cash box and work with Treasurer
  • Staffing the Merchandise Tables/Stadium Store at seasonal parent/athlete/coach meetings and Back to School events.
  • Working with our vendor to coordinate merchandise design and ordering
  • Setting up/breaking own stadium store/tables at various events

Concessions

We would like to be able to open the Concession stand at most home sporting events, along with a  few tournaments, competitions and other events that draw big crowds to our campus.  Concessions are a HUGE source of support for our fundraising goals and.  Being on this committee, you might be asked to assist with the following:

  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to staff the concession stand
  • Assisting with managing Inventory
  • Maintaining records
  • Staffing the Concession Stand
  • Stocking and storing food (training and support will be provided)
  • Assisting with food preparation before and during games (training and support will be provided)
  • Cleaning the concession stand (training and support will be provided)
  • Maintaining cash box and working with Treasurer.
  • Working with various food vendors to place orders

Sponsorship

We ask local businesses on the Broadneck Peninsula and beyond to support us by purchasing advertising on our website, signs at the stadium, courtside and on the baseball and softball fields.  Sponsorships support our fundraising goals and, just as importantly, allows our families to support the local businesses that support us. Being on this committee, you might be asked to assist with the following:

  • Recruiting local businesses to be sponsors
  • Maintaining records
  • Coordinating with our sign vendors
  • Working with Treasurer to track funds
  • Installing and maintaining signs

Craft Bazaar

If you haven’t been to the Craft Bazaar, you don’t know what you are missing!  Typically held the first Saturday in December every year, it showcases over 100 craft vendors.  Being on this committee, you might be asked to assist with the following:

  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers and student athletes to staff and set up/break down the event
  • Recruiting local vendors to participate
  • Maintaining records
  • Staffing the event
  • Working with Treasurer to track funds
  • Coordinating set up/breakdown of  for the event
  • Assisting in coordinating the bake sale
  • Working with Concession chair and Merchandise chair

Mulch Sale

Help us be THE Springtime mulch distributor for the Broadneck Peninsula as we work in concert with our friends at The Providence Center on Shore Acres Road.  Assist with the following:

  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers (including adult drivers) and student athletes to staff and set up/break down the event
  • Assisting with on-line order tracking
  • Staffing the event
  • Maintaining records
  • Working with Treasurer to track funds
  • Working with our vendor to order mulch and secure facility

 

Communication

Assist with the following: 

  • Coordinating updates to our members via email, website etc.
  • Working with Board members and committee/program chairs
  • Working with team liaisons and website coordinator

Assist with the following:

  • Coordinating content from various Board members and committee/program chairs
  • Updating website pages (requires some technical skill – training and support provided)
